Poetry booklet
If you’re curious why I ended up in Tokyo without a suitcase,
how to have deep conversations with onigiri,
or which graveyard is best for making friends
my debut poetry book is out now.
Verboden rijst is a collection of poetry written during a three-month solo journey through Japan and parts of Asia. Most of the poems are in Dutch, but you’ll also find two poems and seven haikus in English.
The bundle features poems and haiku’s about the sea, love, and a long journey. They were born from intimate experiences and personal reflections: moments that changed both me and the world around me.
The book is available online and in bookstores across the Netherlands.

Feel free to reach out, follow along, or order the book. I’d love to hear what you think.
Best,
Huibert
