A familiar sight, in an unexpected place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of my favorite poems from <em>Verboden Rijst<\/em> is called <em>Smiling Onigiri<\/em>. The connection was immediate. Amsterdam and Japan meeting underground, in a station I\u2019ve passed through countless times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I walked in, started a conversation,  printed the poem and hung it there.<br>It now sits at the bar, where travelers stop briefly before work, on their way home, or somewhere else entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a transient place. People don\u2019t linger.
